About Us

Woodlands Dance began as part of an extra curricula scheme to help to introduce dance to students that felt they may have "missed the boat" by not starting dance as a toddler. As we grew in popularity we began to outgrow the confinements of our Woodlands School base and decided that it was time to move our workshops to their own dedicated space.

Darley Dance opened its doors to the public in May 2009 and we were excited to welcome back some old faces who had left Woodlands School and jumped at the chance of being able to join our team once again. We also welcomed some new faces and added some extra classes.

We are a performance based company and all our workshops are based on choreography influenced by a particular style. No exams, no uniforms, no mirrors and no pressure.

Here at Darley Dance we feel that people face enough pressure in life and that dancing should be an escape from that so we have a more relaxed approach even though our workshops follow the techniques and training of certain dance styles. We feel we can get more out of you if you feel comfortable. We have created a social atmosphere that everyone is welcome to be part of.

Whether you've been dancing your whole life, if you want to come back to a long forgotten hobby or even if you have never danced before you'll find a group that you fit into easily.

about us

We are thrilled to be working with Derbyshire County Cricket Club who have not only provided us with our new home but also have our girls as the Falconettes, the official dancers for the Derbyshire Falcons.

We perform at many different events throughout the year from halftime performances at Pride Park to dancing in the street as part of Derby City Councils Christmas Entertainment.

We also have our Showgirls who are very excited to be increasing in popularity as they host and perform at a wide range of events.
