We come from a performers background, we have set up this event as we feel it is the best way to showcase our act and want to give people the opportunity to showcase alongside us. We have years of experience of producing shows and productions and genuinely think that this is the best chance we can offer to entertainers and businesses to get the most out of exhibition.
WHY NOT AN AVERAGE WEDDING FAYRE?
There are many wedding fayres all over the country and the local events can range from £100 to somewhere in the region of £600 for a stand. As an entertainer it can be extremely difficult to get noticed at these events and very often people will barely stop and listen to you for more than a few seconds before moving on and focusing on the stands that have lavish displays. It can be a lot to take in on one day and more often than not brides will go to many events in the area and scarcely remember which entertainer they saw at which event. I have been to events where singers have actually been singing over the top of one another trying to be heard as people walk by. If you are lucky enough to be included in the fashion show then great and you may feel you are getting more for your money as you do many shows throughout the day however the numbers of people who now stay to watch the shows is rapidly depleting and over the course of a day doing the show over and over you sometimes find that the effort hasn’t been worth it. We attended one fayre where we performed all day in the fashion shows and in the end must’ve performed to around 30 people over the course of the day. Not many when you think about it!
WHY IS IT DIFFERENT?
We are doing a production; the evening will stand out from all of the other promotional events and will be remembered for not only being different but for also showing a selection of high quality entertainment available for weddings. A ten minute slot may not seem like a long time but remember you will have a captive audience like in a theatre and people will be entirely focused on you with no distractions. Whilst you are performing your company image will be projected either side of the stage and thanks to our programme, which will be handed out free to all our guests they will be in no doubt of what your business is called and how to contact you. They will then go home with their goody bag and programme and easily be able to get hold of your contact details to book you. There are only six places available for wedding entertainers in our show so you will not be lost in a saturated market.
WHY ONLY 10 MINUTES?
We settled on ten minutes as we feel that in that time you can showcase your act and leave people wanting more. It’s about whetting their appetite! Very often people can make the mistake of overkill and go on too long leaving people restless. We want fast paced and short sharp performances allowing audiences to see what you’re about. It will give them an opportunity to see what you would be like at their wedding without giving away your entire show! We don’t want people to feel that they have already seen everything and that their wedding would just be an encore we want people to leave buzzing and wanting to see everything you have to offer.
WHY ADVERTISE IN THE PROGRAMME?
You may think that advertising in our programme is a one off but remember that it’s something that every person will take home and if the show is good and your act excites them they’ll tell their friends and in having your details in our programme they will immediately be able to spread the word and word of mouth is possibly the most important tool in our business. An advert in a magazine may be a great way of getting yourself out there but it’s nothing compared to having people see you perform. The majority of our bookings come from people having seen us somewhere and not from people following adverts. They remember performers that made them feel something, they remember music that moved them. An advert can be easily forgotten. Which is why we feel so passionately that this is the perfect event for performers, the advert is there to back up the performance!
HOW WILL IT BE PROMOTED?
We also intend on putting a huge amount of effort into advertising this event, all our performers will be highlighted and promoted on our website right up until the event and then added to our links page for the foreseeable future. We have an active facebook and twitter page where we also intend to promote this event which pushes footfall through our website giving you another great advertising opportunity. Wherever we advertise this event we intend to include our performers especially on posters and flyers and wherever else we can so this in turn will help promote your business as you will be indirectly advertising through us. We will ask everyone involved in this showcase including the people dressing the event to also promote not just the evening but the performers and businesses involved. We are also inviting event planners and wedding planners to see our show. They will be part of the captive audience that will see you perform and take home with them your details ready to pass you on to any future clients having seen first-hand how you perform. It’s a true networking opportunity.
WHAT ELSE?
In addition to all of this the event is being held at The County Ground which is a venue that is growing in popularity not just for weddings but black tie dinners, charity events and balls all looking for entertainers. Their bookings have risen by more than 50% in the last year and the event manager of the county ground will be at our show. She will be given your business details and be watching the performance so will then be able to recommend you and pass your business along to other potential parties.
When you take everything into consideration you can see that it’s not just 10 minutes of performing but it’s a real opportunity to open doors for your business to introduce yourself to an exciting new market and to really show people what you and your business is made of.
